PRESS RELEASE: FITZGERALD RELEASES FINAL 2017 NEWSLETTER

State Senator Steve Fitzgerald reflects on 2017 legislative session and upcoming 2018 session. Leavenworth, KS, December 22, 2017– State Senator, Steve Fitzgerald released his final 2017 Senate newsletter and legislative update for the 2018 legislative session. In 2017, Steve continued to fight to protect SB 45 and helped stop attempts to roll back provisions of the bill. Steve was a proud sponsor of the Constitutional Carry bill, SB 45, which made Kansas gun laws some of the least restrictive in the nation.  Steve strongly opposed the retroactive tax increase that was passed in the legislature. In 2018, Steve’s SB 155 is on the Senate calendar. Steve Fitzgerald’s Statement on Paul Davis’s Congressional Run

Steve Fitzgerald’s Statement on Paul Davis’s Congressional Run

STEVE FITZGERALD’S STATEMENT ON PAUL DAVIS RUNNING FOR CONGRESS: I am heartened to see that Paul Davis has denounced extreme partisanship, such as the Congressional Democrats’ obstruction of the agenda which Donald Trump put before the American People in the last election, However, I am concerned about his vision for our future. Unfortunately, while he mentioned it in passing, he clearly does not see National Security and the growth of our national and local economy as a top priority. I wish this were not the case. America and vital American interests face serious threats from North Korea, Russia, China, and ISIS. The economy must improve faster after eight years of substandard performance. Again, he does not seem to be aware of the importance of this issue. I hope that as…

Fitzgerald says strong conservative needed to keep Kansas’ 2nd District in GOP hands

A former Army officer and Green Beret from Leavenworth, Fitzgerald has earned a reputation at the Statehouse as an outspoken, often blunt conservative. He trumpeted that reputation Thursday in announcing his candidacy to a crowd of about 40 supporters in Topeka. “We do not need politicians who tell us what they think we want to hear rather than what we need to know,” Fitzgerald said. “Politicians with big plans for themselves but have never been toe to toe with those who deny the right to life, who are eager to limit your 2nd Amendment and other rights, and who see your wallet as the answer to their government spending problems.”

Fitzgerald Shocks KCUR, Pumps Trump Agenda in Bid for 2nd District Seat

Public radio station KCUR seems more than a little astonished that State Senator Steve Fitzgerald, a Republican from Leavenworth, would go “out of his way to link himself to President Donald Trump” in announcing his bid for Kansas’s 2nd District congressional seat at a Topeka rally. KCUR’s Jim McLean expressed surprise that Fitzgerald would link himself to the president given Trump’s “free fall in national polls.” The use of “free fall’ is still another example of the media’s often fact free reporting on the Trump presidency. Despite an unprecedented savaging by the media, Trump has, if anything, tightened his hold on the Republican base.
